So that SSD drive is really improving the Xbench score. Reboot and it should load OS X from the new OWC drive. Choose the most recent back up and restore it to the new disk and shut down. Then from the same menu choose Restore System From Backup.

I just checked.and a score of 319.84 is the highest Xbench score so far.and the highest score by a pretty large margin. After selecting your language in the OS X install program, from the menu find the Disk Utility and erase the OWC drive. So maybe this Xbench score is actually fairly quantifying the increased performance effect of an SSD drive! For example a 2.0ghz cpu laptop with an SSD drive may feel as fast as a computer with a 2.2 or 2.4ghz cpu & a traditional hard drive.

At first, XBENCH score of my PowerMac G5 (2.0G Dualcore, late2005, GeForce6600LE) was shown. However, recent releases of PPC-ubuntu were so buggy that most of benchmarking tests became frozen before finishing. On the other hand.many reviews have said that the SSD drives in computers make them seem much faster than the computers cpu ghz level would indicate. At the request, benchmark tests were performed on QEMU-Windows7 on my PowerMac G5. So I don't know.maybe the individual scores in Xbench would need to be rebalanced (as well as Xbench only supports up to 4 cores, not 6, 8, or 12-core Mac Pro's).

I'm thinking that in some small way an SSD maybe a bit unfair.since someone in this thread said that the last time Xbench was rewritten was 2006.before SSD drives were commonly available (or maybe not at all). 6 20 32 Harbor Freight Milling Machine Results 1 to 19 of precision of my.
